DHS EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR TORNADO VICTIMS

Food Stamp Replacement Benefits

 ·        If Food Stamp program participant lost food due to power outage (24 hours or more), current month’s benefits are replaced

 ·        If Food Stamp EBT card was lost or damaged, replacement cards are available Replacement EBT cards are available at DHS county office

 Low Income Emergency Cash Assistance

 ·       One-time cash payments of $250 (1-2 person household), $500 (3-4 persons), or $750 (5 or more)

 ·        Applicants must be displaced from their homes

 ·        Applicants’ household income must not exceed 125% of the federal poverty guidelines

 ·        Eligibility determined at time of application

 * Available in the following counties:  Benton, Fayette, Fentress, Gibson, Hardin, Haywood, Henry, Hickman, Houston, Lewis, Macon, Madison, McNairy, Montgomery, Perry, Shelby, Sumner, Tipton, Trousdale, Wayne and Williamson.
