Financial
Donations |
|
|
The
Jackson Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is not a government agency. The programs and
services of the Red Cross are provided primarily through the
generosity of individuals, and businesses who give
voluntary gifts of time and money. Our citizens know that they
can depend on the Red Cross in times of disaster. |

Where Does My Donation Go?
Ninety-one cents of every dollar spent by the
American Red Cross is invested in humanitarian
services and programs. The Jackson Area Chapter Red
Cross provides the following services to it's
communities: |
|
|
-
Grief counseling, toiletry items, shelter,
replacement for medication and eyeglasses and
financial assistance to hundreds of families
affected by flooding or fires each year.
-
Adult/Infant and Child CPR/First Aid/AED to
thousands of clients, as well as Babysitter’s
Training
-
Deploy volunteers to major disasters locally and
across the country to provide relief to those
affected by floods, tornadoes, hurricanes,
winter storms and other disasters.
-
Help hundreds of military families in our region
transfer emergency messages to their loved one
deployed, helping them stay connected to family
members during a difficult separation.

Blanket
Buddy Program |
|
|
In response to an urgent need to supply families with
blankets in the event of a disaster, the local chapter, with
assistance from Union University students created the
"Blanket Buddy" program. Many
Churches, Civic Organizations, Private Clubs and Other Caring
Individuals have joined our "Blanket Buddy"
program. New
Blankets may be dropped off at the Jackson Area Chapter located
at 212 N. Highland Ave, Suite 240, Jackson, TN. If you would like
us to pick up new blankets in the local
Jackson area, or have any questions, please contact the Jackson Area Chapter
of the American Red Cross at (731) 427-5543. |

Comfort
Kit Program |
|
|
Many Churches,
Civic Organizations, Private Clubs and Other
Caring Individuals help us each
week by donating hygiene and toiletry items for our Comfort
Kit Program. When
a family is burned out of their home, usually they get out with
just the clothes on their backs. They lose just about everything
because of fire and smoke damage, and also the water damage
that occurs after the fire department has put the fire out. We
will provide them with emergency food, clothing and shelter. In addition, we also provide them with
blankets and Comfort Kits
containing basic toiletries used to help maintain
personal hygiene. |
